The Dash

For no reason other than I was reminded of one of the great moments in our family history, and the topic of Jill's novel, I decided to have a second blog posting today about the poem entitled "The Dash". A great poem. It's a little cliche, but I can't help but feel as though I should go out and do something amazing today...but it's cold. And I would rather spend my "dash" being warm in my house. Tomorrow for sure. How do you want to spend your dash?

Also, while I was searching for "The Dash" online, I found a jewel. Linda Ellis, the author of "The Dash" has her own blog. Did you know "The Dash" is being made into a full length movie? Thoughts?

And for your reading enjoyment, I found "The Dash" online. As the poem is copyrighted, I decided no err on the side of caution.

  1. Excellent! Thank you so much for reminding me about our family's strange fondness for sentimental claptrap as evidenced by the reading of poems like "The Dash" at every single funeral.

  2. Jill, if 'The Dash' doesn't make its way into your novel, then you will be shaming the entire Esmonde clan.

    And... a movie? Seriously???

  3. I'm a little confused... wouldn't just about every movie qualify as a 'Dash' movie because isn't The Dash whatever you choose to do in your life?
Whammy, I think you ruined your Dash today by deciding to stay inside and warm instead of doing something useful. Hopefully you can make up for it. Come to think of it, your liberal use of hyperlinks might just have saved your day. I'll have to think about it.

  4. Sam (from Scott's account) - I went out to dinner with my biochem friends, and it turned out to be 3$ bellini night. That definitely improved my dash.
